What the file shows

The heirs of Randel Sanders received Mercer's Colony certificate No. 311 for 640 acres from Commissioner John M. Crockett at Corsicana on 20 April 1850. Deputy surveyor Wm. L. Browning laid it off in May 1851 about 7 1/2 miles N 40 W of Corsicana, west of Chambers Creek, beside the W. J. Carnes and J. B. Boyer 1280-acre surveys. It was patented to the heirs on 14 March 1854.

Printed form: the heirs of Randel Sanders, having made the proof required by law of his citizenship in the colony, are entitled to 640 acres to be located on vacant land within the colony of Charles Fenton Mercer and his associates; the heirs may locate, transfer or donate the certificate
