What the file shows

Fenwick R. Kendall received Mercer's Colony certificate No. 306 for 640 acres from Commissioner John M. Crockett at Corsicana on 20 April 1850. D. R. Mitchell surveyed it about three miles west of Corsicana beside B. P. Bustain's tract in May 1850. The papers were filed in November 1853 and the patent issued to Kendall in March 1854.

Printed form: Fenwick R. Kendall, having taken the oath and made the proof required by law of his citizenship, is entitled to 640 acres to be located on vacant land within the colony of Charles Fenton Mercer and his associates; he may locate, transfer or donate the certificate
