Thomas Wilson received Mercer's Colony certificate No. 302 for 320 acres at Corsicana in April 1850. D. R. Mitchell surveyed the land on the East Fork of Briar Creek about six miles southwest of town in June 1850, and the patent issued to Wilson in April 1853.

Entitles Thomas Wilson to 320 acres to be located on vacant land within the limits of the colony of Charles Fenton Mercer and his Associates, he having taken the oath and made the proof required by law of his citizenship

Navarro County ('said' struck, 'Navarro' in red), about 6 miles SW from Corsicana on the East Fork of Briar Creek, north of Richland; red ink writes 75(?) between S and W (a bearing, S 75 W)
