Land assembled; county tax abatement abandoned April 2026; TCEQ air permit application pending

Behind-the-meter generation does not enter the ERCOT interconnection queue, which is why this campus appears in no queue listing.

A county tax abatement is not a permit. The recorded deeds and the TDLR building permits are unaffected by the April 2026 announcement; what changed is the county’s leverage, not the project’s footing.

The full building-permit record beyond the first two permits sits behind a TDLR account and has not been read.

The 2025 filing described 30 gas engines totalling about 613 MW. The February 2026 application is for gas turbines, simple and combined cycle, and states no megawatt figure. Neither filing lists solar, batteries or fuel processing.

The air permit application was submitted on 17 February 2026. When the TCEQ notice page was read on 23 September 2026 it carried only the plain language summary and the notice of receipt, with no preliminary decision and so no final date for public comment.

On 21 September 2026 the Governor directed TCEQ to issue no permits sought by data center projects until audits by ERCOT and the Texas Water Development Board are complete. That stops a permit being issued; it does not close the comment period.
