Richland
Navarro County, Texas
Richland sits at the junction of Interstate 45 and State Highway 14, on Pisgah Ridge twelve miles south of Corsicana in south central Navarro County. Asa Chambers opened a store there in the late 1840s, and its post office, Richland Crossing, named for Richland Creek, opened in 1848; the Houston and Texas Central Railway reached it in 1871. Population peaked near seven hundred fifty in 1929 and declined through the Depression, settling at two hundred fifty-five as of the most recent count.
