Navarro

Navarro County, Texas

Navarro sits on Farm Road 3243, eight miles southeast of Corsicana in southeastern Navarro County. It was first known as Hopewell, for the Hopewell Baptist Church, and took its present name when residents moved to a new rail-line site after the Houston and Texas Central bypassed the original one; its post office opened in 1908. Population was a hundred ninety-three in 1990 and two hundred thirty-two as of the most recent count.
