Navarro County, Texas

Laid out about 1906 on the Trinity and Brazos Valley line and called Lyford until the Post Office objected that Texas already had one. The replacement name is the initials and surname of Edward M. House, who formed the railroad and was later Woodrow Wilson's closest adviser.
