Corbet

Navarro County, Texas

Corbet sits on Farm Road 2452, six miles southwest of Corsicana between Briar and Cedar creeks, on the old St. Louis Southwestern Railway line. It began in 1866 as Cook's Schoolhouse, was later called Waters, then took the name Corbet; its post office ran from 1893 to 1929. Population peaked near three hundred in 1914 and has held at about eighty since 1970.
