Barry

Navarro County, Texas

Named for Bryan T. Barry of Corsicana, who sold the first settlers their land. The post office opened in 1886 inside a general store a mile south of the present town, and when the Cotton Belt laid its Corsicana to Hillsboro track in 1888 the whole place moved up to the rails.
