Stansel
Navarro County, Texas
Four miles southwest of Dawson, Stansel was named for an early settler and established before 1900. Its post office ran from 1901 to 1903; the mid-1930s community held a school, a church, a store and a number of houses. The school closed after the war, and by 1947 only a store and a church were left, for about thirty people. It was off the highway maps by the mid-1960s.
