Roane

Navarro County, Texas

Roane sits at the junction of Farm Roads 636 and 1129, eight miles northeast of Corsicana in northeastern Navarro County. The Beasley family settled it in the early 1840s; its post office, named for resident Will Holland, opened in 1892, and a cotton gin followed in 1893. Population was about a hundred fifty in 1914 and has held near a hundred twenty since 1990.
