Retreat

Navarro County, Texas

Retreat sits on Farm Road 709 just south of Corsicana in south central Navarro County. It began in the 1840s as Beeman's School House and took its present name when the schoolhouse relocated. Population was about a hundred by the mid-1960s and has grown since with Corsicana's own commuting reach, three hundred thirty-four in 1990 and four hundred thirty-two as of the most recent count.
