Navarro Mills

Navarro County, Texas

The county's first corn mill was built here in the early 1850s, and later a flour mill on Rock Creek where farmers sometimes waited days to have their wheat ground. In 1963 the Corps of Engineers closed a dam on Richland Creek beside the settlement, and the name now belongs mostly to the lake.
