Gradyville

Navarro County, Texas

Gradyville is what Blooming Grove was called before it moved. R. J. Grady and Sam Andrews opened a store here shortly after the Civil War, and a cotton gin followed. When the post office came in 1871 the citizens met at White Church to choose a name for the community. The town later moved a mile north to reach the Cotton Belt line and merged with White Church, and the name stayed behind with the old site.

Gradyville is not a separate settlement that died. It is the earlier name and the earlier site of Blooming Grove itself, which is why no ghost town of that name appears on any map.
