Goodlow

Navarro County, Texas

Goodlow sits on State Highway 309 just south of Kerens, established around 1900 on land belonging to Harry Goodlow. It grew as a Black community; by the mid-1930s it held two churches, two schools and a number of houses, and its schools consolidated into Kerens's after the Second World War. When Kerens declined to annex it, Goodlow incorporated on its own in 1978 and remains incorporated today, a hundred seventy-eight people as of the 2020 census. GNIS carries its point under the name Goodlow Park rather than plain Goodlow, the gazetteer's own naming quirk, not a second place.
