Emmett

Navarro County, Texas

Emmett sits at the junction of Farm Roads 639 and 744, twenty-one miles west of Corsicana in western Navarro County. The Osburn and Goodson families established it after the Civil War; its post office ran from 1888 to 1905. Population was about two hundred fifty in 1890, near a hundred eighteen by the mid-1930s, and has held near a hundred since 1990.
