Drane

Navarro County, Texas

Drane sits on Farm Road 744, six miles west of Corsicana in west central Navarro County. Its post office opened in 1883; the community peaked around 1896 with about seventy-five people, a flour mill, a cotton gin and Presbyterian, Methodist and Baptist churches. The post office closed in 1906. Population has held at sixteen since 1990.
